Butterfly Count

Look, a Summer Azure! There goes a Giant Swallowtail! Join the all-day annual butterfly count and these are just two of
the many species of butterflies you may find. To participate in the official count, you must pre-register by August 1, 2005.
Don’t have the entire day to spend counting butterflies? Don’t worry, we will be offering a butterfly workshop
the afternoon of the count, in which you will learn and see some of the more common species of butterfly in the park at this
time of year.
Monarchs and More Hikes
September 7 – October 2, Wednesday to Sunday
Witness the phenomena which made Point Pelee a national park. Join a park interpreter for a two-hour tour of the world-famous
Tip in search of migrating birds, dragonflies and of course, Monarchs!
Legends of the Night

As Halloween approaches we hear many spooky legends about creatures of the night. Join a park interpreter around a campfire
and through story-telling.
Christmas Bird Count
Monday December 19th, 2005 all day
Point Pelee will be conducting its annual census of the winter birds in the area. If you have the day free, call the park
by December 12 to register for this event – all experience levels are welcome. There is a participant charge paid to
Bird Studies Canada to support the compilation and publication of the results nation-wide.
